Prices Are A Rising

Its hard to believe that you would find a single Florida city, much less SIX of them on Forbes’ new list of America's Recession-Resistant Cities For Real Estate due to the fact that Florida was one of the hardest hit states starting in 2007 with short sales and bank owned homesFive of the six Florida cities that made the list were Sarasota-Bradenton, Punta Gorda, Ft. Myers, Destin and Pensacola, which are all on the West Coast of Florida. The sixth, Port St. Lucie, is on the state’s east coast.

Sarasota, FL
There are 25 metro areas ushering in a steady rise in home prices since the beginning of 2011, according to Zillow.com. For this list, Zillow scoured through home price data for 154 metro areas, assessing values for homes both on and off the market using list prices, final sale prices, tax records, and property histories.

I can voucher for Sarasota-Bradenton area, supplies are down compared to a year ago and prices have increased... numbers don't lie so be careful what you hear in the media.
