Sarasota County Recognized as 'A' District

Sarasota County School District was recognized today as an A district, according to the Florida Department of Education.
The state’s Education Department offered kudos to 13 districts including Sarasota for consistently earning an A. Other school districts to earn As were: Brevard, Calhoun, Charlotte, Clay, Gilchrist, Leon, Martin, Nassau, Okaloosa, St. Johns, Santa Rosa and Seminole.
Education Commissioner John Winn recognized the high-performing districts Thursday, saying, “Achieving these kind of results takes a coordinated effort at all levels and I couldn’t be more proud of what these students, teachers, school leaders and other dedicated stakeholders were able to accomplish during the last school year.”
